Book Tag
Wednesday, August 30th, 2006Saw this on Elaina’s blog and thought it would be fun to do.
BOOK TAG
1) One book that changed your life?
Obvious answer, but it’s true: the Bible.
2) One book you have read more than once?
The Blue Castle by L.M. Montgomery (yep, the author of Anne of Green Gables).
3) One book you would want on a desert island?
The Jane Austen novels – I have them in one volume, so I’m not cheating!
4) One book that made you laugh?
Anything by Katie MacAlister.
5) One book that made you cry?
I think The Notebook did, and that’s why I don’t usually want to read Nicholas Sparks. Sorry, dude, but I’d rather laugh when I’m reading.
6) One book you wish had been written?
For some reason, nothing is coming to mind… Probably another Jane Austen novel?
7) One book you wish had never had been written?
Watership Down by Richard Adams. I apologise to anyone who loves this novel, but when I was younger, I just found it so boring and was disappointed in myself for not being able to finish it – I would get through everything I started back in those days.
One book you are currently reading?
All Creatures Great and Small by James Herriot.
9) One book you have been meaning to read?
Too many out there to list. I’d love to be able to read all the books by my online writer friends, just most of them haven’t come my way yet.
10) Now tag five people
These folks may have been tagged already, but let’s give it a try, anyway: Chris Mikesell, Michelle Pendergrass, Chick of Grace, Angie Poole, Brenda Coulter. Oh, and anyone reading this, you’re tagged too, all right?
Had some spare time yesterday and watched “The Bourne Identity” again. Although it’s very different from the book and that may make diehard Robert Ludlum fans angry, I’m getting used to separating certain tales into “movie version” and “original version,” and enjoying both. This is one story where I appreciate the condensing for the purpose of making a great action movie, and yet I also think that Ludlum did an excellent job with the novel. (I’m still a bit annoyed that Marie isn’t Canadian in the movie, but hey, I can’t have everything. It’s probably too much to ask that we could have the two hilarious Canadian moose in “Brother Bear” and a strong Canadian woman in “The Bourne Identity.”
I’ve been waiting for this movie for a bit, and was really excited to see it on the weekend. I love dancing movies, and the story was good, too. I liked the characters – something that’s essential for my interest in the plot – and followed their actions and reactions without wanting to say, “Why did that happen? That’s so unrealistic!” (Not that I didn’t want to tell them off for their choices… I just got the reasons why. Or loved the whole so much that I’ve forgotten any nitpicky stuff. LOL)
