My movie list

Wednesday, November 29th, 2006

There’s almost always something I want to see, though for most I can wait a few months and rent them. Here’s the current list:

Stranger Than Fiction
Casino Royale
Deja Vu
The Fountain
The Nativity Story
The Holiday
Eragon

And now back to another viewing of The Phantom of the Opera! :)

Ah, the possibilities…

Not sure where this came from in my brain, but it makes me think of fantasy books or Alexandre Dumas novels. No title at the moment…

There is much to discuss
Come in, pull up a chair
Would you like some tea?

We must make plans
The generals have decided
And soon they go to sea

If we stay we’ll be caught
Trapped in their war
Who knows when it will end?

We could run away
Start a new life far from here
Shattered dreams will mend

Must we say goodbye
Leave our home and friends
Possibly for all time?

Must we be pawns
In their game of conquest?
It’s such a crime

There is no choice
They have us fenced in
There’s only one way out

So we pack up
In haste we flee
Before there’s time to doubt

Farewell, home of my youth
I will tell my children of you
Long tales of your wonders

Review: John Tucker Must Die

John Tucker Must Die movie poster The previews for this movie looked fun, so I recently checked it out. At first I thought it would be totally predictable, but it surprised me. I have to admit there were a couple of over-the-top moments, but they were funny. Good story and interesting characters, too. Rent it for laughs and a great performance by Brittany Snow. :)

Finally

I’m glad that the Charlie-Amita thing worked out better in this week’s episode of “Numb3rs.” Here I thought he was being stupid so far this season in not taking advantage of the fact that Amita stayed at Cal Sci, when in fact he was just unsure how to proceed. I can understand that, and I ask the writers to forgive me for the mean thoughts I had about them. ;)

Also happy to see Megan finding a way to help Larry without scaring him off. LOL

Can’t live with ‘em, can’t make it without ‘em…

The “Gilmore Girls” writers need a smack upside the head for their stunt on Tuesday. Lorelai would never get married without her daughter present, and said daughter’s dad should be the first to insist on including her. He was being impulsive, and I get that, but there’s no excuse for his selfishness.

Unless perhaps we forgive the character by setting the blame at the feet of the writers, as I have done. I don’t care what your reason is for throwing in a quickie wedding that’s not even shown in the episode; whether for ratings or on an incomprehensible whim, there’s still no sense in it.

On the plus side, Lane is having twins. Hee hee.
