GG baby shower!

Wednesday, February 28th, 2007

Loved Gilmore Girls last night. I was a little ticked that Luke sold his boat when it had been in the family so long, but that’s a minor thing in an episode that had a Stars Hollow baby shower plus Lane and Mrs. Kim fighting. Loads of fun! ;)

And backtracking for a moment, Heroes was awesome this week, wasn’t it? :D

Calling all authors – reviewer seeking books!

Tuesday, February 27th, 2007

I’d like to start a book review column for the regional newspaper my office produces, so I’ll be emailing some authors I know and asking for copies of their latest books. If you read this and I haven’t contacted you, post a comment so I can arrange to read your work as well.

Ideally, the column would be diverse, with fiction and non-fiction alike and a broad spectrum of genres. The books will be new releases as much as possible, but there may be room to promote works that have been on the market for a longer time. I suppose it depends a lot on what I’m sent.

There is potential for the column to spread to other Black Press newspapers and I’ll be encouraging our editor to share with any of her counterparts.

I confess

I should have learned from past attempts at diaries and journals that the blog thing wouldn’t be as regular as I originally planned. In fact, anyone who may watch this site for updates knows what I am now admitting: I often get caught up in life away from my computer and forget to post the everyday things that folks might like to read.

Feel free to call me on this issue. Nudge me through comments or emails so that my blog is placed higher on the list of things that must get done.

And thanks for sticking around!

Review: Perfect Together, Lisa Plumley

I really enjoyed this romance novel. I usually pick romantic suspense so that there’s more to the plot than the hero and heroine lusting after each other ;) but this one used a reality TV show as the reason for throwing the two together, and it worked well. I could picture the characters if not always in real life, at least in a romantic comedy – in fact, that’s my suggestion for a producer and/or director looking for a good project. Nora Ephron, are you listening? ;)

Gotta love weekends

I’ve had a relaxing time so far – dinner out on Friday night, catching up on TV shows yesterday and reading a Jayne Ann Krentz novel (All Night Long). Also saw Love Don’t Cost a Thing last night. :)

This morning, I’m working on my novel, adding a new character so there’s more mischief. ;)
