It’s Tim’s birthday!

Wednesday, October 29th, 2008

Yay, the big day is finally here! We could be very busy, so I’ll check back after all the fun and give a recap. Hopefully there will be several cool photos as well.

Two days!

The birthday is approaching quickly, and I still haven’t wrapped presents. Doh!

Four days left!

Yay, Tim’s almost at his first birthday! I really should wrap presents this weekend…

I have a SparkPage!

I’m not sure how often I’ll update the page and its blog because I also have this site, but I decided today that I could benefit from digging a little deeper into all that SparkPeople offers for weight loss and healthy living.

Here’s a blog entry I just posted: Things that make you go “Hmmm….”

Enough with the long-lost sequels already!

We rented the fourth Indiana Jones movie on the weekend. It’s certainly not the worst movie I’ve seen, but it just can’t compare to the first three in the series. And it’s not because Harrison Ford looks his age in the show. ;)

I think it’s time for moviemakers to let go of the past. Come up with new ideas! I couldn’t even watch “Rambo” because it was so bloody, though I did like “Rocky Balboa.” (I may be one of the very few.) Did everyone jump on the sequel/prequel bandwagon even after seeing how George Lucas killed “Star Wars”?

I don’t mind remakes if they’re done well. “You’ve Got Mail,” for example, is a great modernisation of a Jimmy Stewart movie called “The Shop Around the Corner.” There’s a fine line between a remake success and the inferior sequels we keep getting. Unfortunately, Hollywood doesn’t seem to have figured out the difference…
